Empower: Data4Health is a new campaign whose mission is to put patients front and centre of the debate around the use of patient data for the betterment of our health system.
We will do this by convening likeminded patients, charities, academics and industry to showcase the power effective use of patient data could have.
“I was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2001, and I’m still here today because of medical research facilitated by the patient data of the leukaemia community.
“I want everyone to benefit in the way I have. But that won’t happen unless our health system starts to modernise and digitise so that we can collect and collate patient data in the best ways possible.
“I am proud to help lead this charge with Empower: Data4Health and will be making the case for a 21st Century NHS that uses our data, as it is ours after all, safely and effectively.”
